The Internet Wizards Christmas Wish List For You And
Your Business
by Bonnie Boots
As Christmas approaches and 2009 comes to a close, I'm thinking
about what I want for myself and my business in the New Year. And
this has led me to thinking about what I want for you.
So here, forthwith, is The Internet Wizards Christmas Wish List for
you. I'll be CC-ing this to Santa in hopes that he'll bring you
these wonderful gifts!
I wish for you to find advice and information that leads you
ahead, rather than astray.
So many people, even people that know their purpose, come on to the
internet with an idea and a vision and instantly get caught up in
the vast tidal wave of information.
Unable to discern which information is for them, and which is not,
they get pulled under and washed away. Many never resurface. Others
find themselves far from where they intended to be.
Too many people throw away too much money and too much time--truly
the most precious thing they have--following advice that isn't right
for them. And you can only begin to know which information and
advice is right for you when you know what your purpose is.
If your purpose is teaching people how to lead happier, more
fulfilling lives, information and advice meant for affiliate
marketers isn't right for you. It will lead you astray, far from
where you want to be.
The information and advice you embrace must match your purpose and
your plan. When it does, it will propel you ahead.
I wish for you to find a realistic perspective on what others
are accomplishing online.
Almost every client I work with has an utterly impossible vision of
what everyone else is doing. They think most people instantly make a
million --or at least a profit--overnight.
They think everyone can do everything all by themselves, from
creating graphics to sites to products, all in the blink of a
virtual eye.
They think outsourcing is the effortless way of getting work done
for them, instead of by them.
If you believe these things, you'll come undone, losing your
self-confidence and your way when you come up against the reality of
working on the internet. You'll feel stupid and wonder why everyone
can master it but you.
The truth is, doing business on the internet is just like doing
business in the brick and mortar world. It takes a plan, time,
effort, experience and a budget to bring it to fruition. That's the
truth behind all the hype.
I wish that when you get conned or taken or simply badly
served, it wont cost you too much or hurt you too bad.
The technology of the internet is very complicated. No one learns
how to use it without making mistakes. Inevitably, one of the
mistakes you make will be trusting the wrong person. You may trust a
joint venture partner that isn't ethical or honest. You may trust a
web site designer that means well, but doesn't have up-to-date
skills. You may trust a supplier that doesn't deliver.
I've done all these things. You will do one, at least.
Of course, you won't know these people are unworthy of your trust
until after the fact. That's just the way life is. We're designed to
learn from experience. So don't walk around unprepared. Know that in
each area where you are inexperienced, you will make mistakes.
Protect against them as you can. Don't beat yourself up when they
happen.
I wish for you to find your purpose.
So many people come onto the internet and get lost. They wander from
one glittering promise of opportunity to another, never settling on
anything, never really accomplishing anything. These people do not
yet know their purpose.
I believe everyone is born with a purpose that his or her life is
meant to fulfill. That purpose is something we all have to discover.
Once we do, our path begins to come into focus. We know who we are,
and we can sense what we must do.
Some people find it very hard to discover their purpose in life.
They don't understand that this huge thing called "the purpose of my
life" is hidden inside something small. For instance, if your life
purpose is contributing to world peace, your purpose may come
disguised as a small family filled with disharmony. By creating
peace within that small family, you will discover--and fulfill--the
huge purpose of your life: contributing to peace in the world.
Your life purpose is always right in front of you. You don't need to
become rich and famous to find it. You don't need to travel to the
moon to find it. You just need to look around you, at the things
that need most to be done.. and start doing them.
Your purpose is there, disguised as a small thing, right in front of
you.
Find that purpose, and you will find
yourself receiving each of the other gifts. Your life itself, not
Santa, will deliver them.
From my heart to yours, this December
in the year of 2009, my best wishes for a year filled with peace and
prosperity, love, hope, joy and abundant good health.
